The whole coastline it's ideal for surfing with waves for the beginner to the fearless pro, year round. If you are learning there are many gentle beach breaks from Playa Carmen to Santa Teresa and northern in Playa Hermosa. Water is warm so there is no need for wetsuit, just bring sunscreen or a lycra.

You will find the best conditions for surfing during the early morning and late evening, when you can surf glassy left and rights. Most of the breaks are surfed with any tide.

At full high tide waves get kinda soft, with banky shoulders and mellow rides. When it get shallow, at low tide, waves are faster, steeper and you can start looking for tubes.
